Applegate Selected to Facilitate a 3-Part Culutual Competency Session for Kelley Business School
Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 02:19PM Beth Applegate was selected to facilitate a 3-part cultrual compentency session for the Academic Advisor's of the Kellely Business School at Indiana University, Bloomington. The goals of the three-part session include:
- Academic Advisors will learn empathy to relate to diverse students.
- Academic Advisors will gain confidence and encouragement to work with diverse students.
- Academic Advisors will learn multiple benefits of diversity in various settings.
- Academic Advisors will learn what to do if a student or colleague uses a racial slur or other degrading terminology, gestures, or actions.
- Academic Advisors will learn how to continually increase their multicultural competencies.
